Objectively tracking RA symptoms on a carnivore diet

In 2005, I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 18. I was unable to hold a pencil, could barely walk, and was in constant pain. Other notable symptoms included extreme fatigue, depression & anxiety, brain fog, and sleep problems.

The next four years were pretty ugly; I was maxed out on Methotrexate while concurrently taking high doses of Prednisone, Leflunomide, and Humira. Despite being on multiple heavy-hitting meds, I was still struggling with basic day-to-day tasks. Due to my poor response to treatment, the inclusion of an IV treatment such as Remicade was also under discussion.

Thankfully, I avoided Remicade and have slowly reversed my disease over the last 10 years using diet, movement, and functional medicine. I’ve successfully dropped 3 out of 4 meds while lowering my disease activity significantly and hope to eventually be in full remission.

Recreational Drugs and Alcohol and Food Sensitivities

Hopefully, this one won’t get me in trouble but I’ll put it out there because I haven’t found any info on it anywhere else online. And I did google it when I was wondering. Unfortunately, this inability to consume basically anything except for pure distilled alcohol, water, beef, and salt, also means I can’t do any fun drug. About two months ago I had a terrible cold, and I can’t take any painkillers so I was laying there (basically dying) Read More

Blood Work!

Sorry about the delay! After eating only beef, salt and water since January 2018 it’s basically completely normal – with slightly raised ferritin levels). That’s 9 months of only meat, and 8 months of only beef, salt, and water. Crazy. Here are the pictures of the tests: I’m going to test testosterone next,  just out of curiousity. Comment about what else you want to see and I’ll write it all down and get it tested for the next round. The ONLY Read More

More Articles

This has been a busy week… Decided to bunch them all here so I can keep track. They don’t bother me. They kind of crack me up actually. Partly because I can understand how a diet of beef, salt, and water sounds insane. But mostly because it actually works and that’s also insane. What am I supposed to do? Stop having an autoimmune disorder due to dramatic changes in diet and then hide that information from the world? Haha. AS Read More

Buzzfeed Article

I thought it was fairly fair considering how controversial the diet is. I was expecting wayyyy worse. But you can’t placebo away arthritis that casually eats joints at age 17… https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/stephaniemlee/jordan-peterson-daughter-mikhaila-meat-carnivore-diet

Hemorrhoids

Soooooo I didn’t really want to write this because, well, duh. But I’m going to anyway. Hemorrhoids are basically swollen veins that can protrude outside of your anus. They are not sexy. They are not comfortable. They suck. They’re also extremely common during pregnancy. I believe this is because people seem to get more sensitive to what they’re eating during pregnancy. (Not surprising considering your body is going through so many changes and you’re protecting the little one inside you. Read More

Consultations

Hey everyone! So I started to offer consults! As everyone who has read this blog knows, I used to be dying. I am no longer dying because of dramatic changes in diet. This worked for me, my mother and my father, and my husband (so it’s not purely genetic). When I was trying to figure things out, I didn’t know who to turn to, and I had nobody to talk to. I felt like an outcast. This made me feel Read More
