    Some people are depressed and don’t know it. Inability to access some long-term memories, low energy, becoming less social or more social in an unhealthy shallow manner, increase of habitual actions or verbal ticks, lessening of interests in hobbies or starting many new hobbies that one loses interest in quickly, social media addiction, procrastination, reliance on the future (hope addiction), i.e. “I’ll finish writing that novel someday” syndrome, sudden bursts of rage that surprises oneself (“where did that anger come from?”), taking for granted one’s good fortune, binge eating/TV watching, etc. One can experience most or all these symptoms of depression and not even feel sad or any anxiety. The above symptoms may rise from some tragedy that one thinks they have recovered from or just a lack of meaning/purpose in their life. So, not all people who are depressed feel sad or anxiety. One may think that the above symptoms are just a side-effect of modern living, and you’d be correct. We are in the age of the “smiling depressive”. Modern society tells us to wallpaper over tragedy, avoid responsiblity (or feel concerned/responsible for things we shouldn’t), and strips us of meaning/purpose.

    Been eating Keto and have noticed a major difference in my depression. I don’t think I will go just meat, but am definitely going to clean up all sugars and carbs out of my diet. I found your blog and other videos because I noticed such a change when I started doing Keto and wanted to see if others depression had improved. Been on anti depressanta for about 20 years on and off.
